We rented the movie version of “Tuck Everlasting” for the kids, since we had recently finished the book.
It was meant to be a simple movie date, but it turned into an adventure.
Cyclone built a “cave” to watch from. It was guarded by a dragon, to was in a magical forest…and they were NOT scared.
It’s safe to say they weren’t all that interested in the movie, (it’s not a cartoon after all).
There’s something beautiful about the talent my kids have for fun. They manage to turn even the most mundane activities into something special.
More often then not I am a road block on their adventure journeys–trying to control the mess, or the volume, or the emotions. But when I allow their creativity to flow, uninterrupted by me, it’s like poetry. The adventures they create, the magic they imagine.
After all, who would want to watch a “real-people” movie from a boring old couch?
When you could be watching from a magical cave.
